There are many famous guests on this album: Dickey Betts, Derek Trucks, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos) and Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic). Not freshmen! That's mean that it's full of guitars. Larry McCray pays a tribute to his favorite musicians and to those he listened to when he was young. He digs in Pop and Rock music repertoire. He changes Bob Seger's "Night Moves" with an incredible final. He plays the cover of Creedence's "Born on the Bayou" and Joe Cocker's "Unchain my Heart" on a funky/Blues rhythm. Rolling Stones "Wild Horses" shows fabulous guitars parts and burning solos. Larry also turns his head to Texas and the Blues "Love the one you're with". There also an incredible cover of ZZ Top's "Waitin' for the Bus" with a solo full of energy. And here we get the big surprise, some Southern Rock songs with titles such as "The Needle and the Spoon" (Lynyrd Skynyrd), the surprising Gregg Allman's "I'm no Angel", in a slow and blues version. Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't you see" is played too with sincerity and close to the original one. Wonderful! Larry McCray has made a great job because these ain't just covers, but he owned the songs and brought his talent, his style, his soul and his heart. And his guests really got involved in that project. That's why we've got an excellent record with great covers some of them from the Southern Rock repertoire. In an interview, Bruce Brookshire of Doc Holliday said: "Blues and Southern Rock are two same things". Larry McCray proves that with this wonderful album that every music die-hard fan should listen to. Get it!!!
